This Old End Table Was Converted Into One Kid's Favorite LEGO Play Table

Jessica is a writer who lives in Queens, NY. She spends most of her time listening to One Direction, watching TV, and hanging out with her one-eyed cat, Rigby.

The plague of LEGOs lying on the floor has caused many a foul word to be yelled at top volume when an unsuspecting foot happens to land on one of the jagged toy bricks. Luckily, this crafty mom found the perfect creative solution to help keep the stray pieces organized.

She knew she wanted to do something with the cheap table she found at a yard sale, but it spent years sitting around waiting until her son's LEGO love finally inspired her to bust out some power tools.

The original, quite outdated table definitely didn't fit in with the rest of their decor as-is.

To update it, first, she used a jigsaw to create an opening at the top.

Then she spray-painted the whole thing, grabbed a basket, and glued on the LEGO base to the bottom.

So simple, but so much cuter than the original look!

Not bad for a $5 furniture purchase, eh? Proof that everything has potential for greatness if you just give it a chance.
