Jessica is a writer who lives in Queens, NY. She spends most of her time listening to One Direction, watching TV, and hanging out with her one-eyed cat, Rigby.

We've all been there: the remote's batteries die when you're in the middle of binging an entire series on Netflix (ahem, in one sitting). There's no time to waste running to the drug store for replacements. Good thing you can create your own with just the spare change rattling around in your wallet.

Okay, you'll also need some cardboard, aluminum foil, and wires to connect to whatever you'd like to power up. But still, it's seriously so simple.

Ah, now you just need a fresh batch of popcorn and you're ready to resume your marathon.
