Tiny houses are a growing trend, and many of them are DIYers' dreams. But the thought of building your own home, no matter how no-frills and tiny, can be daunting. Thankfully, there are alternatives...like converting a premade shed, playhouse, or other small outbuilding into a functional, comfortable home.
One family bought such a building from Tennessee-based company Morristown Buildings, and turned it into a home. They even shared their photos with Morristown Buildings, who proudly put them up on Facebook to inspire other DIYers.
This is one of Morristown Buildings' deluxe playhouses, which was converted into a fully functional home.
They remodeled the inside, adding plumbing, power, and everything needed to make it livable.
That includes a fully functional kitchen...
...and a bathroom, complete with a shower stall.
There's also a bedroom in the back.
There's even a second story.
Upstairs is a loft, which can be used as a sleeping area or just for storage.
This model of playhouse measures 14 by 28 feet, and starts at $5,870 to purchase. Rental arrangements are also available. Of course, remodeling like this will cost extra money, but for you hardcore, tiny-living DIY fanatics out there, it might be the perfect place to call home.
